Chance portraits Cape Cod

e and i have just returned from some time back on the cape. for weeks before our visit i had wanted to “come up” with something inspired to shoot during our visit. the days reduced to zero, the spark of wishful inspiration had failed to inspire.  i had wished to shoot some quintessential cape cod photos.  images of the essence of the real cape, our home (or our now, our first of two homes).  at the last moment, i decided portraits of the people by chance.  nothing overly orchestrated.  just the people in the places our paths crossed when chance allowed.

it was a good reminder that fundamentally while a very nice place, it is the capes real people that hold a special place in my heart.

in no particular order we have: lesley at claytons, doug at the brew charlie and greg at narrowlands, asa at grumpys erica “by rich’s fire, dario at mlb, jax hanging over a rail, doug in the tender grips of everyones inigma mo, terry checking his device formally a black berry, hugh behind his coffee shop, clara and the fam on the bike path to woods hole, a “usie” with the animals of leisure, bones in obsession, mayor of catamet jimmy d in the arms of my e, new mom louisa, lexi sharing the looming details, sweet maite, pete on the jones compound, paul behind the wheel, clayton going over the details, kevin driving by the bogs, susan sharing her retrospective, brendan in his corner gear, jane sweeping the steps of the community center, hillary and anais looking for bugs and buddy walking pete in the bogs

i dont typically make identical posts on my webpage and instagram where these images ares appearing across several posts… this  group of images is an exception and can be found at both.
